Rafal Rubì (Minorca, Spain)

This is a talayotic settlement in thè Mahón municipality, situated some 3 km. from thè city itself, on thè left of thè Mahón to Cuitadella Road. Parking is available.
It is worth looking at thè entrance doorway to thè settlement, thè talayot, its rooms attached to thè western side, thè columncd halls or hypostiles which are molai, aiul thè sanctuary with thè grcat centrai taula which some archaeologisls believc to he thè centrai pilaster of thè Iniilding which also used to he roofed, although this is a matter which is stili being debated.
This taula shows a remarkable, rather precariously balanced, attached column. It is most probable that it fell by accident.
The talayots and thè sanctuary represent thè public sector of thè settlement whereas thè remaining buildings belong to thè private sector. These settlements grew up around thè end of thè Bronze Age (circa 1300 B.C.) and continued well into Roman times.
